Sligo 21 is a holiday as much as a conference. You can fill your day with everything that is going, or take it at a pace that suits you (or the weather!).
The day can start at 8.00am with a Boot Camp, that can include workouts from circuits to spinning. This will keep you in tip top condition during the conference. On alternative mornings, we also have a time of prayer from 8.30am.
The Morning Bible Teaching kicks off the main programme of the day in the Arena and Venue 2. All of our main sessions will have the opportunity for prayer ministry.
The first session is over, time for a break so pickup a coffee and treat, and plan the rest of the day.
The second morning session includes a range of seminars; some are stand alone, others follow a stream each day, or are part of a series. Make sure you look at The Guide, read up on what is on, and get there early. Alternatively, pull up a chair in one of the cafes and take it easy! During the two morning sessions there are fantastic programmes for 0 – 18s. These are age specific programmes that ensure your children are having an outstanding time encountering Jesus.
With the two morning sessions over you can pick up lunch in one of the cafes on site, or head into Sligo and try one of the many cafes, restaurants or pubs.
The afternoon programme hosts a variety of seminars and workshops. These can range from resources for churches, peoples sharing their stories, through to practical workshops. The afternoon is also the perfect time to explore the surrounding area. There will be some tips in The Guide of places that are great to visit. The Marquee in Yeats Village, is our community hub for the week. In the afternoons there will be some informal activities that the everyone can get involved in. If you are here on your own, or the first time, keep an eye for the blackboards around the site. People use them to write up their plans for the afternoon, including meeting points and times for others to get involved too.
If you are staying in Yeats, Clarion or Benbulben Apartments, you’ve got a kitchen and everything you need to self cater for the week. If you don’t fancy cooking, we have some recommendations of restaurants in The Guide.
We gather again in the evening for our Evening Celebrations in The Arena and Venue 2. Each night a different speaker will be sharing what is on their heart and these sessions will model worship, teaching and ministry. Programmes for those aged 5 – 18’s also run during this session with a dedicated space in the Arena for parents who wish to bring their little ones, with an audio and visual link .
You’ve made it to the evening and its time to wind down. Visit The Marquee for informal gatherings including outdoor movies, crepes and ice cream. On alternative evenings, we also continue worship and prayer with late night worship. Come and go as you please. Or rather, invite a few friends round to your accommodation and relax.
On Wednesday, we take the afternoon off after the morning bible teaching and come back together for the evening celebration. On Friday, we host a family celebration.
